Artibus prize

At the end of every schoolyear, the Utrecht Center for the Arts (where
I'm teaching Illustration courses) is rewarding a few students with the
Artibus prize for best work, including the kids.

This year I was part of the jury. There were so many interesting and beautiful
things made, it was hard to pick just one in every category. One of my
favorites was a kid's carcoal drawing of her dog. She managed to capture the
   very significan 'lazy-dog-look' wonderfully!

One of the winners among the adults made the very interesting painting in
the last photo, I couldn't stop looking at it.

Update: the last painting is made by student Gerard Meeder.

  1. Allebei kunstwerkjes inderdaad! En die laatste vind ik ook wel een beetje griezelig :)

  2. Nice to see the real dog in the photos too :-) Sounds hard but fun to be in the jury - an honour of course. I really like the artwork!

  3. Wow I love the that last painting! Do you have the name of the artist?

    1. I'm a bit ashamed to say but I forgot his name... what I do know is that he's not a professional artist (can you imagine!)

    2. Wow he should be then! I would love to see a collection like that.

  4. the drawing with the dog is very good!
i thought the last picture was a foto... very very good!
