Surprise mail

Arriving at my studio today, a little package was waiting in my mailbox (how
I love that excitement of a little surprise waiting for me)... Inside was the most
adorable little sailor made by the lovely (and talented) Olesya. Thank you sooo
much for your lovely gift, I love it!!! (Now imagine me with a huge smile on
   my face... :-D)

Pssst... Olesya (with a friend) also owns a lovely Etsy shop with cute kids stuff:

Inspired by Lotta Jansdotter I printed my own fabric today using hand carved stamps.
I made the stamps out of erasers using an utility knife. The idea is to use this printed
cloth to upholster a vintage chair.

Hummingbird

Spoonful Magazine asked me to contribute to their next edition with an illustration
of a hummingbird. Did you know that these little fellas are the only birds who can
   fly backwards?

Pretending

I'm persistently pretending spring is comming (and ignoring it's actually autumn
who's at my doorstep). Yesterday was the crown on my spring mission when I
found a beautiful painted stool on the curve left for trash. I just had to adopt it...

This season mix-up game might have to do with this book I just bought, that
became my absolute garden bible within seconds!

Normally I'm not very big on complaining and being negative on the blog (as I do
believe in possitivity) but my week has been not so good... a funeral, a difficult
thing to say, and feeling a bit... ugh. Fortunately my doodle made me laugh :)

One day left to comment on this post and the chance to win a 15% coupon for
   the Etsy shop!

Etsy Open 03

Yesterday I made a few props to use for the Etsy Open opening party. The idea
is for people to pose with these quirky accesories while their picture is taken.

There's also a whole new batch of Instant Comfort Pocket Boxes online in
   my Etsy shop, here!

Spend another fun day at the Etsy Open pop up shop in Leiden today. Almost
all the stock had arrived and it looks so pretty together! I can only say: go and
have a look! Tomorrow is the official opening starting at 9 in the evening.
There'll be music, drinks and... a 'photo boot' with props (some made by me!)...
   more about that tomorrow!

Upcomming wednesday, the Etsy Open (pop up) shop in Leiden will open it's
doors! Apart from my goodies they'll sell all sorts of nice handmade things from
dutch Etsy sellers.  Me an Amy went there today to illustrate the window display.
I'm quite pleased with the result but it was quite hard to make proper photo's as
the sun was a bit bright... I did my best though and promiss to post more pics
later when the shop is in business (I'll be there, whole day, this thursday).
There also more pictures on Amy's blog.

I also want to pay a big THANKS to Amy for helping me out these past 4 weeks.
Amy, you were a wonderful intern and I'm very sure you'll have a bright
   illustration-future ahead of you!
